Candle SafetyCandle Safety It is important to follow all safety guidelines when using Southern Glow candles in your home, workplace, etc. and to use them responsibly.
Jars: The glass containers are fragile so handle them with care. Do not light the candle if glass is cracked or chipped. Empty jars can be used for a variety of things, however, do not refill them with wax. Do not allow the flame to touch the sides of the jar. The jar may become hot and crack or shatter. Handle carefully. To minimize wax left on the sides of the container, burn 3 hours at a time. Some wax may still adhere to the sides and may vary depending on the fragrance, color and burning conditions. Although Southern Glow wicks are designed to be self-trimming, carbon heads may need to be removed and wicks trimmed from time to time to keep them from smoking. Trim wicks to ¼” and relight. Keep the wax pool free from any foreign matter, wick trimmings, matches or any combustible material. It is important to keep the wicks centered in the jar while they are burning as well as when they are extinguished. It is a good idea to use the Wick Quencher when extinguishing the candle to keep candle from smoking and to make sure wicks are straightened and centered in the jar. Do not place lid on the jar to extinguish. Always place candles on a protected, heat resistant surface away from anything that can catch fire. Discontinue use when ½” of wax remains. Do not burn candles near a draft. Do not leave candles unattended. Keep burning candles within sight at all times. |
